Welcome to the Adulthood.

You are a new graduate. You studied for four years or even more. This is the time to start your career. You waited this long to finally live like an adult, responsible for yourself and determining your own future. But first you need a job.

How to Find a Job?

There are three ways you can do to find a job these days:

1. Referral from People You Know
Maybe you have a relative or a friend whose company is looking to fill a position. And it happens that your skillset is an exact match. You can apply through this method. There’s an advantage to this arrangement. Because the company already trust the employee who referred you, this also means they would have an easier time trusting you. You will have less problem getting hired.

2. Newspaper Classified Ads – For a long time this has been the only other method for finding a job. Companies would publish their job vacancies in newspapers. Most of us buy broadsheets on a Sunday because that is the time where you find the most job advertisements.

It is still one of the options available today for job seekers.

3. Online Job Sites – It has never been more easy to look for a job thanks to the Internet. What you need to do is create an account on these websites. And then you can search for jobs by categories, location, and by industry.

There are several Job Hunting Sites in the Philippines:

Posting a job on this site is free for everyone, because of this a few individuals have been reported to have abused the system. There are reports of people finishing projects, especially writers and artists, and yet never received any payment. So be extra careful.

2. LinkedIn – LinkedIn is like your Facebook for Jobs. Companies can. post their job vacancies here. When you click their post and you will see a button that will enable you to apply. There is also an option that will enable you to message employers directly. But those and other advanced features of the site are hidden behind a paywall.

3. Facebook Jobs – In February 2017 Facebook implemented a Job Board that allows companies to post job vacancies using their Facebook page and applicants can apply using the Jobs tab. This is probably suitable for micro and small business owners looking for someone to do quick tasks as part-time jobs. Having said that, there is no stopping Big and medium sized companies to use this feature for hiring full time employees.
